What would it be like if we could create a virtual world in the space of our childhood imagination to retreat to whenever we feel disappointed with the real world?

This imaginary world, based on our childhood memories, would be a safe space for our thoughts, emotions, and spirits. This exhibition is an attempt to create a prototype of this virtual world by collecting the artwork of children in the community of Chang Moi, a creative district in the heart of Chiang Mai that blends old and new cultures and ideas. We have been involved in the development of the city for the past two years. We happened to meet Jomjai (Jomjai Harnfaifah) and discovered that she had formed an art club with her friends. We decided to showcase Jomjai’s and her friends’ artwork in the form of an immersive experience art exhibition at the Chiang Mai Design Week in 2021 and 2022.

In this exhibition, we expanded the idea of creating a virtual world by incorporating different elements of the children’s artwork, such as characters and environments, and blending technology and art to create an immersive experience for visitors. This is a popular trend in showcasing artwork, and we hope to continue developing this virtual world concept in the future.

This is the developed works from the exhibition “Tomorrow, we are young!” back in 2021.

This exhibition also led to ‘Paint your world‘ workshop and field trip for faculty of digital art, Sri Prathum University.
